During June, 2019, MAF Uganda went the extra mile by arranging a multiple day flight to South Sudan for Every Village. Every Village was finishing a leadership retreat in Kampala, and needed to return their managers back to various location in South Sudan. Additionally, the Every Village Executive Director and Water Director were going to survey program activities, which requires multiple stops over the course of a week. Due to the rains that begin in May, the roads are not a feasible option for timely travel. Pilot Eivind Lindtjorn flew the entire Every Village team into South Sudan, and stayed an extra two days in order to take the Every Village leadership to their next destination. Eivind was not only a means of transportation, but he proactively contributed to the Every Village work through his photograph during the two day layover. MAF Uganda’s willingness to accommodate this multiple day flight helped save Every Village thousands of dollars by eliminating the need of an additional charter flight, while also growing the bond of partnership through the time spent between the pilot and Every Village leadership.
